Dr. Ralph Aquila Represents Fountain House at the World Health Organization
This month, the Center for Reintegration's Executive Director, Dr. Ralph Aquila presented at the mhGAP Forum in Geneva at the headquarters of the World Health Organization. Along with Kenn Dudek, the president of Fountain House, Dr. Aquila spoke about proven methods that reduce the rates of excess mortality among those living with serious mental illness.
As the Medical Director of Fountain House, Dr. Aquila is instrumental in the success of Fountain House's approach to improving the lives of the mentally ill. That approach includes integrated medicine and wellness, along with housing support and a community-based mental health setting where individuals can go each day to find purpose, along with assistance in aspects of life such as employment, education, healthy lifestyles, and socializing. Clubhouses like Fountain House are replicated and located all over the world. You can search online for one near you by clicking HERE.

At the Center for Reintegration, our Baer Reintegration Scholarship Program exists to help individuals further their education. For many of us, school provides a place and purpose each day that is so integral to recovery. By showing up each day, challenging ourselves to achieve our academic goals, and pursuing new paths, we are taking steps towards ending the stigma of mental illness, and strengthening our own mental wellness.
